Bedding

Always use safe, unscented bedding in your hamster’s enclosure.

      • Paper bedding is recommended
      • Aspen is the only safe wood-based bedding. However, if your hamster starts sneezing or having other respiratory issues, it may be too dusty for them.
      • Bedding should be at least 6-8 inches high in order to encourage burrowing. In the wild, hamsters make intricate burrows 2-8 feet in depth in order to stay safe from predators.
