Chinese hamsters are the second largest species of hamster which makes them a nice mid-sized option for a lot of people. They’re not technically dwarf hamsters, but they received that nickname due to their smaller size in comparison to the popular Syrian hamster. They are surprisingly lengthy when they stretch out and resemble a mouse more than other hamsters with their longer tail.  Also note that Chinese hamsters require at least an 8 inch wheel, though larger is better.
